The Concern World Wide Office in Marsabit, through a funding from USAID, has once again provided a consignment of fast moving spare parts to Department of Water, Environment and Natural Resources as part of broader system strengthening interventions aimed at enhancing water sector service delivery across the larger County.
For the past several years, Concern World Wide has been one of the major partners working in close collaboration with the Department in the critical areas of water development infrastructure and governance and support to Borehole Rapid Response Team.
The latest support to the Department included provision of borehole motors of various ratings. The consignment was handed over to the Department during a ceremony that was presided over by the County Executive Committee Member for Water, Environment and Natural Resources, Hon. Adan Kanano.
Amongst the items that were handed over to the Department were five (5) motors of 7.5KW rating, four (4) motors of 5.5KW and one (1) motor of 4KW rating. Other items were Klorman inline disinfection units complete with 16 inch cartridges for chlorination and reagents for bacteriological water analysis.
The handing over ceremony was also witnessed by Chief Officer for Environment and Natural Resources, Dr. Adano Gollo, Director for Water Services, Mr. Umuro Sharamo, Head of Borehole Rapid Response Team, Mr. Fakansa Boru, and officials from Concern World Wide Office led by Hassan Abdullah and Wash Manager, Mr. Evan Nyagwaya.
