County Government of Marsabit wishes to recruit competent and qualified citizens to fill the following positions as per the Constitution of Kenya 2010 and the County Government Act 2012 Sections 59(b) and section 86
CGM05/20/08/2020: Driver I (Job Group F) – 11 posts
Terms of Service- Permanent and Pensionable
Responsibilities
- Driving motor vehicles as authorized
- Maintenance of work tickets for vehicles assigned
- Detecting and reporting malfunctioning of vehicles systems
- Maintaining cleanliness of the vehicle
- Ensuring security and safety for the vehicle on and off the road
- Carrying out routine checks on the vehicle’s cooling, oil, electrical, brake systems and Tyre pressure
- Safety of the passengers and/or goods therein
- Ensuring that the vehicle’s insurance cover is up to date at all times
- Maintenance of work tickets for the vehicle assigned
- Any other duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor
Requirements for Appointment
- Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education Mean Grade D plain or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
- Passed the Suitability Test for Drivers Grade III;
- A valid driving license free from any current endorsements and valid for any of the classes of vehicles which the officer is required to drive
- A first aid certificate lasting more than 1 week from St. John Ambulance or Kenya Institute of Highway and Building Technology (KIHBT) or any other recognized institution
- Pass occupational trade test II for drivers
- Defensive driving certificate from Auto Mobile Association of Kenya (AA) or its equivalent from a recognized institution will be added advantage
- Attended a first Aid certificate course lasting no less than one week at St John Ambulance or Kenya Red cross or its equivalent
- Maintenance of work tickets for the vehicle assigned
- At least 2 years driving experience.
- Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and result
- Satisfy the requirement of chapter six of constitution of Kenya 2010
CGM06/20/08/2020: Driver II (Job Group E) – 40 posts
Terms of Service- Permanent and Pensionable
Responsibilities
- Driving motor vehicles as authorized
- Maintenance of work tickets for vehicles assigned
- Detecting and reporting malfunctioning of vehicles systems
- Maintaining cleanliness of the vehicle
- Ensuring security and safety for the vehicle on and off the road
- Carrying out routine checks on the vehicle’s cooling, oil, electrical, brake systems and
Tyre pressure
- Safety of the passengers and/or goods therein
- Ensuring that the vehicle’s insurance cover is up to date at all times
- Any other duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor
- Satisfy the requirement of chapter six of constitution of Kenya 2010
Requirements for Appointment
- Holder of Kenya Primary Education Certificate or its equivalent
- Pass suitability test for driver grade III.
- A valid driving license free from any current endorsement for classes of vehicles the officer is required to drive.
- Passed practical test for drivers conducted by the recruiting authority.
- Attend a First Aid certificate course lasting not less than one (1) week
- Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and result
- Satisfy the requirement of chapter six of constitution of Kenya 2010
- Hand written applications enclosing updated current curriculum vitae, copies of academic and professional certificates, ID card, clearances for chapter six of Constitution of Kenya 2010 and any other relevant documents be submitted in a sealed envelope and addressed to;
