Pursuant to the provisions of Article 179 (2) (b) of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010 and Sections 30, 35 and 36 of the County Government Act, No. 17 of 2012, the Marsabit County Government wishes to consider applications from highly qualified, results-oriented and self-motivated Kenyan citizens for appointment to the following positions.
COUNTY EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEMBERS–TEN (10) POSTS IN JOB GROUP T
The Ten (10) posts will be as follows: – (Applicants should specify
the portfolio for which they wish to head)
1. Education, Skills, Development, Youth & Sports
2. Finance & Economic Planning
3. Transport, Roads, Housing & Public Works
4. Health Services
5. Administration, Coordination of County Affairs & ICT
6. Agriculture, Livestock & Fisheries Development
7. Tourism, Culture & Social Services
8. Trade, Industry & Enterprise Development
9. Water, Environment & Natural Resources Development
10. Lands, Energy & Urban Development
Duties and Responsibilities
A. To supervise the administration and delivery of services in the respective departments of the County Government and all decentralized units and agencies in the County.
B. Perform any other functions conferred on it by the Constitution or national legislation: and
C. Carry out any function incidental to any of the assigned functions
Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this position, the person should:
I. Be a Kenyan citizen
II. Be in possession of a first degree from a University recognized in Kenya
III. Satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution
IV. Have knowledge, experience, and a distinguished career of not less than five years in the field relevant to the portfolio of the department to which the person is seeking to be considered.
V. Understand the diversity, challenges, and opportunities within the County.
VI. Should not hold any other State or Public Office.
VII. Be conversant with the Constitution of Kenya and all the devolution laws
VIII. Be a visionary and strategic thinker
IX. Have the ability to work in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity.
X. Have the capacity to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines
XI. Be committed to being part of a team that will enable the County Government to achieve its vision.
Terms of Service: Contract
Salary: As prescribed by the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC)
Note: Only Short-Listed candidates are required to get clearance from the following institutions to meet the requirements of Chapter Six of The Constitution of Kenya:
i. Kenya Revenue Authority
ii. Higher Education Loans Board
iii. Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission
iv. Criminal Investigation Department
v. Credit Reference Bureau
